Cortosol Detector

People with adrenal gland issues are unable to produce and regulate the hormone cortosol. This means they must suppliment their body's cortosol with medication. As of now, however, the only way to test the blood for cortosol is an expensive hospital test. This device would function like an insulin detector for diabetics, but instead would detect cortosol levels in a droplet of blood.

Glucose meters work by measuring the electricity produced by an oxidation reaction between blood glucose and a specific enzyme. The amount of electricity produced indicates the amount of glucose present. The only challenge in building our cortisol detector is chosing an enzyme that would produce a similar reaction, then finding the relationship between electricity output and level of cortisol.
